Fourier Transform and Neural Operators

I describe the history and derivation of the Fourier Transform and show how it is still being used in different ways for modern applications. Specifically, I illustrate (1) how the history of the Fourier Transform parallels the history of sound processing and (2) how Fourier Neural Operators are being used to solve complex partial differential equations in machine learning models.
