Buck Boost Converter Analysis
I analyze the DC-DC Cuk converter and simulate its operation. Design constraints and equations are the primary focus of this analysis, but real-world applications are considered. The Cuk converter is derived from the buck and boost converters. It utilizes the output capacitor from a boost converter to act as the energy source for the cascaded buck converter. This means the Cuk converter utilizes two inductors and two capacitors, as well as a switch and a diode. The usage of multiple inductors allows for a smoother (continuous) output signal but causes higher current strain on the switch.
