F1TENTH Senior Capstone Project

During my senior year at UCSB I led a team of five EE students to convert a typical RC car into an autonomously driving robot with eight different operational modes. Despite having no prior experience with robotic projects, I was able to design and code original algorithms for autonomous searching, exploring, fetching, roomba driving, wall following, path storing, path recalling, and manual control. I also implemented a Flask app so that the robot could be controlled by a nearby phone using an online interface. I was invited to present on the project at the International Telemetry Conference in 2023. Moreover, for my work developing the project far beyond what was expected of me, I was invited to be one of the three TAs for the next year's capstone projects. Throughout the project, I gained proficiency using a Raspberry Pi, coding in ROS, and managing a team of engineers.
